Melinda Irizarry, accompanied by her boyfriend and her young daughter, was enjoying a relaxing evening at a motel, celebrating her boyfriend’s birthday. However, their peaceful night was shattered just before midnight when they heard aggressive banging on their door. What followed was an unexpected and violent confrontation.
According to authorities, a man and a woman forcibly entered the room. The man reportedly pointed a gun at Irizarry’s 5-year-old daughter and ushered her boyfriend into the bathroom at gunpoint. Meanwhile, the woman, described by Irizarry as being in a ‘frenzy mode,’ repeatedly stabbed her.
The severity of the attack became apparent at the hospital, where Irizarry learned not only that her life was in danger but also that she was approximately a month pregnant.
