The flames from this incident quickly spread from a car to a nearby home, highlighting the risks when safety protocols are not followed.
Fire safety experts advise thorough dousing of used fireworks in water before disposal and recommend using metal trash containers placed outside homes. This precaution, among others like having a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby, is crucial for preventing fires.
Moreover, there are specific warnings about re-igniting dud fireworks and allowing children to handle them. Firefighters stress that even sparklers, though often seen as harmless, can be dangerous for young ones.
