The incident occurred around 12:17 p.m. near Broadway and Linwood boulevards. According to a preliminary investigation, the driver of a silver Dodge Journey appeared to suffer a medical event, causing the vehicle to accelerate uncontrollably. The car struck a parked Lexus, a light pole, a Vietnam memorial, and the side of a VFW building before coming to a stop.
