Officers from the Houston Police Department (HPD) responded to reports of a shooting in the 7000 block of Bissonnet Street shortly after 9:20 p.m.
Upon arrival, police discovered the security guard, who had sustained at least one gunshot wound. Personnel from the Houston Fire Department rendered aid at the scene but pronounced the victim dead shortly thereafter, HPD authorities confirmed. Horelica noted that the establishment’s exterior was designed to mask its true purpose. “I’m not sure what businesses here are legit and what aren’t but it’s obvious the front of it is made to look like it’s something else,” Horelica told reporters at the scene.
