Senator Slotkin Reports Security Threat and FBI Inquiry Following President Trump’s Remarks

Senator Elissa Slotkin has confirmed she is currently under 24/7 security protection following a bomb threat directed at her family home and statements made by President Donald Trump regarding a video she released. The Michigan Senator stated that the heightened security measures were deemed necessary after the President characterized her actions as seditious in a social media post.

According to Senator Slotkin, President Trump’s post suggested that the video, which involved other lawmakers, constituted treason and could be punishable by death. Slotkin further confirmed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has indicated an intent to interview her and five other lawmakers in connection with the matter. She described the President’s reaction as an intimidation tactic aimed at stifling dissent.

The video in question reportedly addressed concerns raised by active-duty service members. Slotkin explained that personnel had contacted her with apprehensions regarding potential orders to deploy to U.S. cities, such as Washington, D.C., or Chicago, to intervene in domestic matters. Additionally, concerns were raised about orders to engage classified targets, reportedly involving cartel members, in the Caribbean. Slotkin argued that relaying these concerns was a legislative duty rather than an act of sedition.

“A lot of everyday people might listen to the President and say that the video was seditious or that it was treason,” Slotkin said in an interview with FOX 2. She emphasized that while political disagreement is inherent to her role, the suggestion of capital punishment for such disagreement is unprecedented. “Does that mean I should be investigated by the FBI and the President of the United States should suggest I be hung?” she asked, asserting that she would never levy such threats against political opponents.
