Daytona’s Thanksgiving Weekend Extravaganza

Thanksgiving weekend in Daytona Beach offers more than just a festive meal; it brings the 51st annual fall Turkey Run at the iconic Daytona International Speedway.

This event is a haven for classic car enthusiasts, attracting around 150,000 visitors over four days. Albert Gordy, a mechanic from Jacksonville and a member of the Callahan Cruisers car club, has been attending for nearly three decades. ‘We reserve 230 spots at the Turkey Run. We’re the biggest car club they have,’ Gordy shared. The Turkey Run showcases thousands of classic and custom vehicles, making it a top event for car clubs in Florida and beyond.

In addition to the Turkey Run, Daytona Beach hosts ‘A December to Remember’ along the Riverfront Esplanade. Starting Friday, this holiday celebration features stunning light displays, community events, and live music daily through January 1. It’s an opportunity to enjoy the holiday spirit with free admission from 6-9 p.m.

Main Street also embraces holiday cheer with its ‘Light Up Festival’ on Saturday. This event offers live music, food trucks, and a holiday market. Known for its vibrant nightlife, Main Street businesses contribute to the festive atmosphere from 4-11 p.m.

Meanwhile, in Flagler, the 4th Annual Holiday Market at the Flagler County Fairgrounds provides a shopping haven with over 100 vendors and food trucks. Santa Claus will make an appearance, offering photo opportunities for families. The market is open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
