Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill Sparks Speculation with Cryptic Tweet: It’s Time for Me to Go, Coach

After a Week 15 loss to the Houston Texans that left the Miami Dolphins at 6-8, star wide receiver Tyreek Hill sparked intrigue with a cryptic social media post.

On Wednesday, Hill tweeted, It’s time for me to go coach, without any additional context. The tweet’s lack of punctuation led fans to speculate whether he was hinting at a desire to try coaching or sending a message to Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel.

While Hill did not address inquiries about the tweet, he later shared another post indicating that his stress levels were at an all-time high.

Currently leading the Dolphins with 805 receiving yards, 67 catches, and five touchdowns, Hill is far from the record-setting pace he established in 2023 when he led the NFL with a franchise-record 1,799 receiving yards. This season, he has surpassed the 100-yard mark only twice in 14 games.

The Dolphins’ disappointing performance has raised concerns about McDaniel’s job security. Following a recent loss to the Green Bay Packers, former Dolphins running back Reggie Bush criticized McDaniel on social media, declaring in an Instagram comment, Fire the coach. He should have never had the opportunity; he sucks.

Should McDaniel be dismissed, it’s unlikely Hill would step into the coaching role, leaving fans curious about the meaning behind his tweets. The Dolphins will look to rebound when they host the San Francisco 49ers (6-8) on Sunday.
