Osceola’s running back Taevion Swint has affirmed his commitment to join the University of Central Florida’s 2025 recruiting class even after head coach Gus Malzahn’s unexpected departure.
Taevion Swint, a standout running back from Kissimmee Osceola, has expressed his unwavering commitment to UCF despite the recent upheaval in the coaching staff. Swint made his commitment to the Knights back in April of last year, and the recent news of coach Gus Malzahn’s departure to take an offensive coordinator role at Florida State has not swayed him from his decision.
Swint stated, “I don’t have any thoughts. It’s still the same mindset,” demonstrating his steadfast resolve. His commitment is a key component to UCF’s 2025 recruiting efforts, particularly as the early National Signing Day approaches in just four days. The Knights have witnessed the defection of several recruits in recent months, including the recent loss of offensive tackle Chastan Brown from Warner Robins in Georgia.
Swint’s allegiance to UCF holds additional interest given his lifelong support for Florida State University. Though he began his recruiting journey with offers from various schools, including FSU, he ultimately chose UCF due to its proximity to his hometown, noting, “It’s right near my hometown, on the outskirts of Kissimmee/Orlando, so it’s right down the road.” This decision reflects a thoughtful consideration of his personal and athletic priorities.

This season, despite overcoming injuries, Swint has proven to be an asset to the Osceola Kowboys, rushing for 1,589 yards and recording 24 touchdowns over 13 games.
