With only seconds left, Sanders’ 52-yard field goal tied the game, forcing it into overtime, where Tagovailoa’s connection with Smith made all the difference. Smith, who had been quiet until the fourth quarter, was pivotal in the final plays, sealing the game with his touchdown catch.
