Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence near Fox Meadow Drive and Wagon Box Circle shortly before 5:30 a.m. Upon arrival, first responders located a woman suffering from stab wounds. According to a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, she was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
A male suspect, who officials stated was inside the home at the time of the incident, fled the scene before deputies arrived. The flight of the suspect prompted law enforcement to issue a shelter-in-place order for the surrounding neighborhood as a precautionary measure while a search was conducted.
Approximately one hour later, deputies located the suspect and took him into custody, subsequently lifting the shelter order. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the individuals involved.
