Themed Black Tie Ball Prepares for Winterfest Boat Parade

In an extravagant display, the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Black Tie Ball set the stage for Fort Lauderdale’s beloved boat parade this Saturday, transforming the city into a lively spectacle.

Last weekend witnessed the grandeur of the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Black Tie Ball, marking the official start of the holiday season festivities. The event, hosted by Alex Miranda, took on a ‘Lion King’ theme, injecting a sense of wild energy into the gala. Attendees, including Lisa Scott-Founds, remarked on the event’s significance as a major social gathering, describing it as one of the most-awaited events of the year.

David Hoenemeyer emphasized the honor of hosting the ball for the 21st consecutive year, reflecting on its success in rallying the community. Guests reveled in the theme, much akin to a party set in the Serengeti, underscoring the gala’s role as a precursor to the boat parade. Susan Renneisen commented on how the event brings people together to celebrate the joy of the season, cementing Fort Lauderdale’s status internationally.

The fashion choices for the evening were equally remarkable, with animal prints and bright colors dominating the ballroom. Zola Keller highlighted the vibrant attire that echoed the African savannah theme. The night was not without humor, as guests engaged in playful banter over the thematic elements that animated the ball.

Entertainment reached new heights with a preview from Disney’s ‘The Lion King,’ preceding its March premiere at the Broward Center. The 14-piece band, Private Stock, delivered a rousing performance, capturing the essence of a jungle party.

This Saturday, all eyes will turn to the New River as the much-anticipated boat parade sails into view. It’s set to be the ‘best show on H2O,’ drawing massive crowds to witness the spectacle of decorated boats meandering from the New River to Lake Santa Barbara in Pompano Beach.

The Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Black Tie Ball has once again left an indelible mark, serving as a vibrant prelude to the famed boat parade. As Fort Lauderdale gears up for this visual feast, the city anticipates a weekend filled with celebration and community spirit.
