In a celebration of outstanding athletic talent, Broward County has announced the All-County honorees for the Fall 2024 sports season.
Recognizing the best in high school sports, these honorees have displayed exceptional skill and dedication in football, swimming, volleyball, cross country, golf, and bowling. This prestigious recognition underscores the hard work and talent of young athletes from various schools across Broward County.
In football, notable mentions include Andrew Indorf of St. Thomas Aquinas and Samari Reed of Monarch, awarded offensive and defensive players of the year, respectively, in the 7A-5A category. The 4A-1A distinctions highlight Dia Bell and Malachi Toney from American Heritage as co-offensive players of the year, while Chris Ewald from Chaminade-Madonna takes the accolade for defense.
The volleyball court saw Mikayla Porter from St. Thomas Aquinas earn the title of player of the year in the 7A-6A classification, with Bradee Boyd from Calvary Christian achieving this honor in the 5A-1A grouping. These athletes led their teams with remarkable performances throughout the season.
Broward County’s swimming scene lauds Juan Vallmitjana of University School as the boys swimmer of the year, alongside Laila Harran from West Broward for the girls, showcasing the future of competitive swimming.
In cross country, Jonathan Pena from Westminster Academy and Grace Finneran of St. Thomas Aquinas have been named runners of the year for boys and girls, respectively, reflecting their endurance and speed on challenging courses.
Golf honors go to Sohan Patel from American Heritage, celebrated as the boys golfer of the year, while Bianca Gibbs from Coral Glades and Lilly Riegger, also from American Heritage, share the girls golf title, demonstrating precision and focus on the greens.
Bowling champions include Lucas Gonzalez from Western for the boys and Joss Collins of South Plantation for the girls, both recognized for their outstanding performances in the lanes.
