Two Arrested Following Stolen Vehicle Incident in Lauderhill

In the early hours of Saturday morning, Lauderhill police identified a stolen Toyota Tundra traveling along West Sunrise Boulevard, leading to the arrest of two men.

Authorities observed the stolen Toyota Tundra at approximately 3 a.m. in the area of 3100 West Sunrise Boulevard. Subsequent to this sighting, the Lauderhill police called upon the Broward Sheriff’s Office aviation unit to facilitate a safe felony traffic stop at the junction of Interstate 95 and Griffin Road.

As officers approached the scene, the driver, identified as 22-year-old Isaac King II, attempted to evade the law enforcement officers by fleeing the traffic stop, only to crash into another vehicle shortly thereafter. The status concerning any potential injuries resulting from this crash remains unclear, according to police statements.

The passenger, identified as 20-year-old Terrance Thornton, was found to have multiple active felony warrants against him. Following the collision, both suspects exited the vehicle and fled on foot. However, police successfully apprehended and arrested them shortly after the incident.

Both King and Thornton are currently detained at the Broward County Main Jail facing several charges. King is charged with grand theft auto, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, leaving the scene of an accident, and resisting arrest without violence. The arrests highlight ongoing efforts by local authorities to manage criminal activities effectively.

The apprehension of these individuals underscores the vigilance and coordination between local law enforcement agencies in addressing criminal activities.
