According to a release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, emergency crews responded to the scene on State Road 15, just north of Waubee Road in Van Buren Township. The driver of the car, 19-year-old Sarah Mischke of Milford, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck was identified as 68-year-old Dale Wert of Goshen. He was transported from the scene with critical injuries to a hospital in Fort Wayne, where he was later pronounced dead.
The Kosciusko County FACT (Fatal Accident Crash Team) is leading the ongoing investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the collision.
