FALLING WATERS, WV – A multi-agency law enforcement operation on Thursday led to the arrest of two men from Hagerstown, Maryland, in connection with a shooting that occurred in Winchester, Virginia, this past summer. The suspects were taken into custody in Falling Waters, West Virginia, and now face extradition.

The arrested individuals, identified as Hausaun Salem Amen Richardson, 20, and Malakie Antwon Scott, 18, were wanted on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Malicious Wounding. According to officials, these charges stem from an incident that took place on July 29, 2025, in Winchester.

The arrests followed a joint investigation between the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Task Force and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office. After developing information that the suspects were in the Falling Waters area, investigators secured search warrants for two potential locations.

The operation on November 13 involved the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, the Jefferson County SWAT Team, and the U.S. Marshals Mountain State Fugitive Task Force. Both Richardson and Scott were located at one of the residences and arrested without incident.

Berkeley County Sheriff Rob Blair praised the coordinated effort, stating, “This operation highlights the exceptional level of training, coordination, and discipline our SWAT team demonstrates on every mission.” He also thanked the partner agencies for their cooperation in apprehending the suspects safely.

Following their arrest, both men are being held pending extradition to Virginia to face the charges against them. It is important to note that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
