Two women, identified as an alleged ringleader and her accomplice, have been arrested by the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) in connection with the sex trafficking and physical abuse of a 19-year-old woman with autism. Authorities reported that the suspects are facing multiple felonies, including human trafficking, false imprisonment, and battery, following an investigation that began when the victim reported her escape to deputies in Dania Beach.
According to Broward jail records, 24-year-old Sianna Negron was arrested Wednesday on charges of coercing commercial sex activity for human trafficking, deriving support from the proceeds of prostitution, false imprisonment, battery, and sexual cyberharassment. Her alleged accomplice, 20-year-old Shytavia Weaver, was arrested on December 11 on charges of false imprisonment for sexual exploitation and battery.
The arrest affidavit states that the investigation commenced on April 28, when the victim arrived at the BSO district office in Dania Beach. The victim told detectives she had been lured into the operation by Weaver, whom she considered a best friend, via Instagram. Investigators allege that Negron transported the victim to a hotel where she was forced to join a group of women already engaging in prostitution.
Detectives detailed in the affidavit that the victim was compelled to service approximately 10 men during her captivity, with Negron allegedly collecting all proceeds, which ranged from $60 to $100 per encounter. The report notes that the victim was threatened with physical violence if she attempted to leave the hotel room and that her phone was confiscated shortly after she joined the group.
Investigators cited digital evidence, including videos posted to social media, which allegedly depict physical abuse inflicted upon the victim. The affidavit describes a recording where Weaver is seen striking the victim repeatedly, and another instance where Negron drags the nude victim by her hair while both suspects punch and kick her. Additionally, detectives found online escort advertisements featuring the suspects and the victim, as well as messages where Negron discussed the victim joining her “team” to generate income.
The victim was eventually released at a Tri-Rail station in Dania Beach after her mother saw the abuse videos online and began searching for her. The affidavit indicates that Negron attempted to force the victim to lie to her mother during a phone call before releasing her.
Judicial Proceedings and Investigative Outlook
This case underscores the role of digital forensics in modern human trafficking investigations, where social media footprints often provide critical corroborating evidence for law enforcement. The severity of the charges, particularly the exploitation of a vulnerable adult with autism, suggests that prosecutors will likely pursue strict penalties under Florida’s human trafficking statutes. As the judicial process moves forward, the focus will shift to the evidentiary weight of the recovered videos and financial records linking the suspects to the alleged criminal enterprise. Sianna Negron is currently held on a $172,500 bond, while Shytavia Weaver is held on an $85,000 bond. It is important to note that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
