LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. – A two-year-old boy has died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday evening in Lake Worth, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. The child was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of South A Street and 10 Avenue South. According to a traffic incident report, a Dodge Ram truck was traveling southbound on South A Street and made a left turn to head eastbound on 10 Avenue South.
Investigators stated that the child was crossing 10 Avenue South in a northbound direction. The report indicates the boy darted into the roadway from in front of a vehicle parked on the south side of the street. As the truck was passing the parked vehicle, the child ran into its path, and the collision occurred.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the fatal crash. No further details have been released at this time.
