The incident occurred at approximately 6:52 p.m. near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station. According to preliminary reports from authorities, a slow-moving vehicle halted at a traffic signal before it suddenly exploded. The blast engulfed the car in flames, damaged three other nearby vehicles, and shattered streetlights, causing widespread panic in the densely populated Old Delhi district.
Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha confirmed that investigative teams have been dispatched to the scene. “Teams from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) have been deployed to determine the cause of the explosion,” Golcha stated.
