A Bridgeport man wanted in connection with a sexual assault in Norwalk was apprehended Thursday morning by a multi-agency task force led by the U.S. Marshals Service. Dashon Robinson, 34, was taken into custody at a Bridgeport residence on an outstanding warrant for fourth-degree sexual assault, according to the Norwalk Police Department.
The arrest stems from an investigation initiated on June 30 by the Norwalk Police Department’s Patrol Division following a report of a sexual assault. The case was later handled by the department’s Detective Bureau. Investigators determined that Robinson had allegedly sexually assaulted a female victim at her residence, leading detectives to apply for and receive an arrest warrant from Stamford Superior Court.
The operation to locate and arrest Robinson involved members of the U.S. Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force, the Bridgeport Regional Task Force, and Norwalk’s Special Services Division and Detective Bureau. He was transported to Norwalk Police headquarters and processed without incident. Robinson was held on a $50,000 bond and was scheduled for a court appearance on Thursday.
During the arrest, authorities also took a second individual, Aden Garrett, into custody. Garrett was allegedly found to be in possession of an illegal firearm. He was transferred to the Bridgeport Police Department and charged with possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm without a permit, and illegal transfer of a firearm.
In a statement, Lt. Tomasz Podgorski of the Norwalk Police Department extended his department’s appreciation to all assisting agencies for their partnership. It is important to note that all individuals mentioned are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
