The U.S. Marshals Service has apprehended a second suspect in connection with the fatal New Year’s Day shooting of Marcus Robinson-Tynes outside a bar on San Antonio’s West Side. Dai’Vonte E’Shaun Titus-Ross, 29, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon, marking a significant development in the homicide investigation initiated by the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD).
According to a press release issued by the U.S. Marshals Service, Titus-Ross was arrested without incident at an apartment complex located in the 6000 block of Ingram Road. He is accused of fatally shooting 37-year-old Robinson-Tynes during an altercation on January 1. Authorities confirmed that Titus-Ross has been booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center.
The incident originated at the Stout House in the 9200 block of Potranco Road, near State Highway 151, around 2:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day. SAPD officers responding to the scene determined that a physical altercation involving the suspects and the victim began inside the establishment before spilling into the parking lot. Police reports indicate that as Robinson-Tynes attempted to leave the premises in his Ford F-250 truck, shots were fired at the vehicle.
Investigators allege that Titus-Ross and a co-defendant, Mark Howard Anthony, 39, fired the shots that killed Robinson-Tynes. The victim was discovered inside his truck with a gunshot wound to the back of the head and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Mark Howard Anthony had previously been arrested in connection with the homicide. Witnesses told investigators that the confrontation was sparked by an argument regarding gang affiliations.
It is important to note that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Investigative Outlook
The capture of the second suspect effectively closes the manhunt phase of this high-profile homicide investigation, shifting the focus to judicial proceedings. With both alleged shooters now in custody, the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office will likely move forward with consolidating evidence, including witness testimony regarding the alleged gang-related motive and ballistic evidence recovered from the scene. The swift apprehension by the U.S. Marshals underscores the effectiveness of federal and local interagency cooperation in tracking violent fugitives.
