Dubbed "Operation Springdale Safe," the three-day operation targeted individuals wanted for gang activities, narcotics distribution, and violent offenses within the Springdale area.
According to a news release from the USMS, the operation successfully cleared 110 outstanding arrest warrants. Authorities seized significant quantities of narcotics during the sweep, including 4.13 pounds of methamphetamine, 55 grams of cocaine, and 95 grams of fentanyl. The agency noted that the amount of fentanyl confiscated is potentially lethal enough to kill approximately 47,500 people. An undisclosed number of firearms and cash were also secured by law enforcement personnel.
The operation involved a coordinated effort between federal, state, and local agencies. Assisting the USMS were the Springdale Police Department, Arkansas State Police, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Homeland Security Investigations, Arkansas Probation and Parole, and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. Charges filed against those apprehended ranged from possession of child sexual abuse materials and being a felon in possession of a firearm to possession with intent to deliver dangerous drugs.
