Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s purse was reportedly stolen while she was dining at a restaurant in Washington, D.C. on a recent Sunday evening, as confirmed by department officials. The incident involved the loss of various personal items and a significant sum of money.
The stolen purse contained approximately $3,000 in cash, which Noem intended to use for purchasing gifts for her children and grandchildren, as well as covering expenses for Easter dinner and related activities. Additionally, the thief made off with Noem’s keys, driver’s license, passport, checks, a makeup bag, medication, and her Homeland Security badge.

The Homeland Security Secretary, who is protected by U.S. Secret Service agents, had her security detail present, although the Secret Service has deferred questions regarding the theft to the Homeland Security headquarters. Efforts to recover the stolen items and investigate the incident are ongoing.
