Orlando, FL – Italo Rafael Brett Bonini, a 25-year-old from Orlando, has pleaded guilty to charges of enticing a minor to engage in sexual activity and producing child sexual abuse material. He faces a federal prison sentence ranging from a minimum of 15 years to life, with sentencing set for July 30, 2025.
As part of his plea agreement, Bonini has agreed to forfeit a computer used in committing these offenses and to pay restitution to his victims and any other identifiable minor victims affected by his actions.
The case details reveal that on January 12, 2025, Bonini engaged in a video chat with two minors in Maryland via an online platform. During this chat, the minors were coerced into inappropriate behavior, with one child complying with Bonini’s request to expose himself. Bonini offered in-game currency as an incentive for the minors to display their genitalia.
Authorities executed a search warrant at Bonini’s residence on February 4, 2025. During the search, Bonini, who identified himself as a middle school teacher and private music instructor, admitted his intention to engage in sexual conversations on the platform. Further investigation revealed Bonini’s attempts to exploit at least 20 other children, consistently using deceitful tactics and making sexual advances.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI, Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police, and the Harford County Child Advocacy Center. Assistant United States Attorney Brandon Cruz is prosecuting the case.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative launched in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The program coordinates federal, state, and local resources to apprehend and prosecute offenders while rescuing victims. More information is available at www.justice.gov/psc.
