Russian Strike on Kharkiv Leaves One Dead, Over 60 Injured

A recent Russian strike on Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, has resulted in one fatality and at least 60 injuries, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. The attack left significant destruction in its wake, impacting numerous residential areas and civilian infrastructure.

Images from the scene reveal the chaotic aftermath, with emergency personnel transporting injured individuals to nearby hospitals. Among the casualties, a 79-year-old man tragically lost his life in his apartment. Reports indicate that several children are also among the wounded.

The Mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, confirmed that the attack damaged 20 apartment buildings and 30 private houses. He detailed that the aerial assault involved ballistic missiles equipped with cluster munitions, focusing on residential zones in the Osnovianskyi district. The strike also ignited fires at an educational institution and a business location, further exacerbating the damage.

In response to the disaster, police forces, sniffer dog teams, and medical staff have been deployed to assist in rescue operations and recovery efforts. The local community remains on high alert as emergency services work tirelessly to manage the crisis.
