As the holiday season approaches, students and parents in Volusia and Flagler counties can look forward to a series of scheduled breaks in the 2024-25 academic year.
The Thanksgiving break for students in both Volusia and Flagler counties is set from November 25 to November 29, with classes resuming on December 2. This provides families an extended period to celebrate the holiday together.
Similarly, the winter break for both districts will occur from December 23 to January 3. While students enjoy a break on January 6 for a teacher professional day, regular classes are scheduled to resume on January 7.
Additional notable days off in the Volusia County Schools calendar include Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 20, Presidents’ Day on February 17, and a teacher duty day on March 14. Spring break is slated for March 17-21, providing students a welcome respite during the academic year. Classes will conclude for students on May 28. In contrast, teachers will wrap up the academic year on May 30.
In Flagler County Schools, the schedule mirrors Volusia’s for most breaks. The school year also includes Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Presidents’ Day as holidays, with a teacher workday on March 14. Spring break will similarly take place from March 17-21. Students will finish their school year on May 29, while teachers will conclude on May 30.
Both counties have synchronized their major school holidays, allowing for consistent planning and expectations for families residing in these regions.
