According to WSP, the Commercial Vehicle Division launched the initiative after observing suspicious activity in the region. Detectives established a base of operations on the evening of November 25 at a truck stop in northern Pierce County. Over the course of the eight-hour mission, undercover officers focused on identifying individuals being exploited and those responsible for promoting prostitution.
Authorities reported that 11 women contacted during the sting were determined to be victims of prostitution or human trafficking. To ensure immediate care, advocates from Kitsap County and agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) were present on-site to connect these individuals with social services, resources, and follow-up support.
The operation resulted in the arrest of a 41-year-old Tacoma man with a criminal history including 19 prior felony convictions. WSP officials stated that the suspect was booked into the Pierce County Jail and faces charges related to human trafficking and promoting prostitution. Additional arrests were made during the sting for offenses including second-degree trafficking, first and second-degree promoting prostitution, and driving under the influence.
