Three additional confirmed cases of measles have been reported in Alberta, with one case identified in Calgary. The individual in Calgary visited the nearby towns of Banff and Canmore while infectious earlier this month. Alberta Health Services has issued a warning, indicating that residents of these towns might have been exposed to the highly contagious disease if they visited certain locations during this period.
Potential exposure sites include the Save-On-Foods in Canmore on April 6 and Banff’s Lux Cinema and the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel on April 11. Since the beginning of March, Alberta has recorded a total of 77 measles cases. The majority of these cases have affected children, and at least eight individuals have required hospitalization.
