Tehran, Iran – Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, issued a stern warning to the United States on Wednesday, threatening "irreparable damage" should Washington proceed with any military action against Iran. This statement comes amidst escalating tensions following a series of Israeli attacks in Tehran beginning June 13, 2025.

The Israeli offensive targeted various sites, including military, scientific, and residential locations, as well as high-ranking government officials. In response, Iran's foreign minister declared that the nation would retaliate "decisively and proportionally."

Ayatollah Khamenei, addressing the nation, emphasized that "any American military entry will undoubtedly be met with irreparable damage." He further stated, "The Iranian people will firmly stand against an imposed war, just as they will stand firm against any imposed peace. This nation will never surrender to imposition from anyone."

The situation follows remarks made by President Donald Trump on Tuesday, where he expressed frustration over the current state of affairs, noting that U.S. patience was "wearing thin." He referred to Khamenei as an "easy target" and conveyed through his Truth Social media platform that while the U.S. does not want missiles targeted at civilians or American soldiers, the aim remains Tehran's "UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER."

Under President Trump's leadership, the White House has been striving to negotiate a deal regarding Iran's nuclear program, although these efforts have yet to yield results. In light of these developments, CNBC has reached out to the White House for further comment.

This breaking news story will be updated as new information becomes available.
