Vancouver Assault Suspect Charged with Biting Off Security Guard’s Fingertip

A man in Vancouver has been taken into custody and faces charges after reportedly biting off a security guard’s fingertip during an incident in the downtown area. The altercation occurred on April 10 at a plaza near the Granville Square office building, located at the intersection of Granville and West Cordova streets.

Authorities responded to the scene following reports of a confrontation between a 62-year-old security guard and the suspect around 10:30 a.m. During this brief encounter, the suspect allegedly bit off the guard’s fingertip. The victim received medical attention at a hospital, though attempts to reattach the fingertip were unsuccessful.

The individual involved in the incident, who was previously unknown to the victim, has been charged with aggravated assault. He remains in custody and is scheduled for a court appearance later this week.
