Contractor Selected for Sarasota Condo Tower

In a significant development for downtown Sarasota, Kolter Urban has appointed Fort Lauderdale’s Moss Construction as the general contractor for the upcoming Ritz-Carlton Residences at Sarasota Bay. This luxury condominium tower, located in The Quay, marks another ambitious project following the successful completion of a similar tower in 2021.

The construction of the Ritz-Carlton Residences, Sarasota Bay is poised to transform the downtown skyline, with completion slated for late 2026. As site preparations near their conclusion, Kolter Urban has moved forward with Moss Construction, a firm renowned for its extensive portfolio of high-end projects across Florida. Brian Van Slyke, Regional Vice President at Kolter Urban, expressed confidence in the collaboration, citing Moss’s vast experience and success with top-tier developments.

The forthcoming condominium tower will comprise 78 upscale units, taking shape on Blocks 7 and 8 in The Quay. Previously referred to as Ritz-Carlton Residences II, the new development promises to elevate residential luxury standards with notable features such as expansive terraces, 12- to 13-foot ceilings in main living areas, and access-controlled elevators enhanced with separate service options for increased privacy and security.

Designed by the respected SB Architects, based in Coral Gables, the residences are set to range from 3,500 to just under 6,000 square feet. The implementation of outdoor grills on the terraces will allow residents to enjoy panoramic views of Sarasota Bay.

The endeavor is a continuation of Kolter Urban’s phased development strategy, following their earlier success with the first Ritz-Carlton Residences tower on Block 6. In tandem with the new tower, the company is navigating the administrative review process to redevelop the adjacent Hyatt Regency Hotel. This future project envisions a mixed-use development, incorporating residential, hotel, and commercial elements. The sales program for the new residences will be managed by Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, further highlighting the project’s prestigious nature.

The collaboration between Kolter Urban and Moss Construction represents a promising stride in Sarasota’s urban development landscape. With a history of successful projects and a commitment to luxury, this new endeavor is set to redefine upscale living in the city by the time it reaches completion in 2026.
