A significant expansion is underway as the Saddlestone neighborhood breaks ground, poised to make Star Farms the largest community within Lakewood Ranch.
The commencement of construction in the Saddlestone neighborhood marks a pivotal development for Star Farms. According to Forestar Group, a subsidiary of D.R. Horton, this new addition will cover 1,300 home sites over 570 acres. The first phase includes 300 home sites located conveniently next to Bourneside Boulevard and 44th Avenue East. This expansion will increase Star Farms to encompass 2,800 lots, spreading across nearly 1,300 acres.
Forestar West Florida Region Vice President Tony Squitieri highlighted the collaborative efforts with builders as a crucial element in this expansion. ‘Star Farms could not have become the largest master-planned community within Lakewood Ranch without our featured builders, and we look forward to sharing our vision in more detail as our design progresses,’ he stated.
The vision for Star Farms is to create a multigenerational community, offering diverse housing options such as single-family homes, paired villas, and townhomes. Esteemed builders involved include D.R. Horton, AR Homes, Lee Wetherington Homes, John Cannon Homes, and Homes by WestBay.
Sandy Shahinian, vice president of sales and marketing for Lakewood Ranch Communities, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion. ‘Star Farms has become a favorite village in Lakewood Ranch thanks to its wide variety of home types, price points, and exceptional amenities,’ she said. ‘We are thrilled to see this community continue to thrive with the introduction of additional phases, providing even more opportunities for buyers to make Star Farms at Lakewood Ranch their home.’
Lakewood Ranch itself is a sprawling, master-planned community that houses over 72,000 residents and spans more than 33,000 acres. This project further solidifies its status as a significant and growing residential area.
With the groundbreaking of Saddlestone, Star Farms at Lakewood Ranch is set to become a landmark in community development, fostering a diverse and inclusive neighborhood that meets various housing needs.
