Café La Trova in Miami’s vibrant Little Havana has once again earned its place among North America’s top bars, being the only representative from Florida on this esteemed list.
The recognition of Café La Trova as one of North America’s best bars is an accolade that echoes its continued excellence in the cocktail scene. Ranked at No. 13, this Cuban-inspired venue on Calle Ocho showcases the exceptional talent and unique experience it offers to patrons. This year, the bar witnessed considerable competition as New York dominated with 12 entries among the top 50 bars listed.
In a historic achievement, Handshake Speakeasy in Mexico City clinched the No. 1 spot, marking a significant moment as the first Mexican establishment to do so. This reflects a diverse and evolving cocktail culture across North America, supported by the North America’s 50 Best Bars initiative, which began in 2016 as a continuation of the globally recognized World’s 50 Best Bars list.
The selection process for these prestigious rankings is rigorous. It involves the votes of an Academy of anonymous North American bar industry experts, including bartenders and bar owners from various regions such as the USA, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. The Academy recently expanded to 270 members to provide a broader and more diverse evaluation. Notably, no bar can apply for consideration, and the list is devoid of external influence, maintaining the integrity of the selection through its independent voting system.
Last year, Café La Trova was among the few U.S. bars featured on the global list, ranking at No. 24. This ongoing acknowledgment underlines its status as a leading destination for cocktail enthusiasts, offering an authentic experience that resonates with both locals and visitors alike.
Café La Trova’s achievement highlights its sustained excellence and contribution to the dynamic cocktail landscape in North America, reinforcing Miami’s reputation in the global bar community.
