Situated in the heart of Miami Beach, Lincoln Road Mall offers a vibrant mix of trendy stores, high-end restaurants, and popular bars, making it a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists. This pedestrian strip between 16th and 17th Streets, stretching from Washington Avenue to Alton Road, has a storied history and a buzzing present.

Originally designed by renowned architect Morris Lapidus in the 1950s, Lincoln Road Mall was once known as the ‘Fifth Avenue of the South.’ While it experienced a downturn in popularity, it has since undergone a revival, particularly after a substantial renovation in 1997. Now, it’s a prime destination in South Beach, known for both its architectural beauty and its vibrant shopping scene.

The mall’s resurgence can be attributed to its blend of retail attractions. Among these, the Apple Store is a major draw, having moved to a larger location in 2015. Fashion enthusiasts will note 1111 Lincoln Road as a hub for high-end brands, including the locally-based Alchemist and British Ted Baker. Popular retailers like All Saints, BCBG, Forever 21, and H&M offer a wide range of shopping options.

Parking, often a challenge in South Beach, is more accessible here with several affordable garages nearby. The 17th Street garage is the largest and offers the best rates. Other options include the Pennsylvania Avenue garage and the City Hall Garage, both priced at $1 per hour, as well as the more recently designed 1111 Lincoln Road building, which also provides parking facilities.

Beyond shopping, Lincoln Road Mall boasts numerous sidewalk cafés and cultural venues. Meat Market and Segafredo are popular dining spots, and cultural experiences are enriched by venues such as the Colony Theatre, which hosts a variety of performances. The Regal South Beach cinema adds to the entertainment options at the mall’s western end.

In addition, the Lincoln Road Antiques and Farmers’ Market draws crowds with its eclectic mix of vintage items, local produce, and artisan goods every Sunday. These elements, combined with the mall’s dynamic atmosphere, make it a key attraction in Miami Beach.

Lincoln Road Mall continually evolves, offering a unique blend of retail, dining, and cultural experiences. Its historical significance and modern appeal ensure it remains a vibrant part of Miami Beach’s cultural and commercial landscape.
