MEMPHIS – A coordinated 40-day operation involving the U.S. Marshals Service and the Memphis Safe Task Force has resulted in the location and safe recovery of 101 missing children, officials confirmed. The joint effort, known as the Memphis Safe Task Force (MSTF), concluded yesterday, addressing numerous missing child cases across the city.
The U.S. Marshals Service Missing Child Unit, which primarily focuses on fugitive investigations, provided its specialized skills to assist state and local partners in the search. “We are happy that we have been able to use our fugitive hunting skills to assist local and state authorities with finding these missing children,” said U.S. Marshals spokesperson Emily Williams in a statement. She emphasized that inter-agency cooperation was crucial to the operation’s success.
In addition to the child recoveries, the MSTF has been engaged in broader public safety initiatives. According to official reports, the task force was responsible for 1,862 arrests during the previous month as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance community safety in the region.
The collaboration between federal and local law enforcement is expected to continue as investigations proceed. It is important to note that all individuals arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
