Tommy Bahama to Reunite Restaurant and Retail in St. Armands

Tommy Bahama is set to reestablish its presence in St. Armands Circle with a new combined restaurant, bar, and retail outlet, scheduled to open in February 2025.

Tommy Bahama, a staple in St. Armands Circle, is undertaking a significant development with the launch of a new venue at 465 John Ringling Blvd. This strategic move comes after the original restaurant and retail location, established in 1996, evolved into a full restaurant, prompting the retail component to relocate nearby.

The decision to consolidate both the restaurant and retail under one roof marks a return to the brand’s roots in the area. The existing retail store will remain operational, continuing its service without interruption.

The previous restaurant suffered extensive damage and has been permanently closed following hurricanes Helene and Milton. This prompted the need for a fresh beginning at the new location.

According to CEO Doug Wood, the venture is a response to the strong connection the company feels with St. Armands, which he refers to as a ‘second home.’ Wood emphasizes the importance of providing an authentic Tommy Bahama experience to guests, which centers around the synergy of dining and shopping.

Despite these changes, other Tommy Bahama locations in Sarasota, including the Marlin Bar in Lakewood Ranch and retail stores in Sarasota UTC and Siesta Key, will continue to operate independently.

The new establishment in St. Armands signifies Tommy Bahama’s commitment to maintaining its legacy within the community while enhancing the customer experience through integrated services.
