On Black Friday, Taylor Swift fans eagerly lined up outside Target stores across the country to purchase “The Eras Tour Book.” Exclusive to Target, this self-published book offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into Swift’s record-breaking tour.

Swift’s “The Eras Tour Book,” available solely at Target, provides an extensive look into her historic tour. The book, priced at $39.99, includes over 500 photographs capturing various aspects such as rehearsals, costumes, set pieces, and performances. Her tour became the highest-grossing concert tour ever, amassing over $1 billion in revenue.

Uniquely self-published through Swift’s imprint, Taylor Swift Publications, the book saw an initial print of 2 million copies. In a testament to its popularity, by 10 a.m. ET on Black Friday, Target reported it as their top new release and highest-selling book for 2024.

Fans showed their dedication by arriving in the early hours to secure not only the book but also other exclusive merchandise, including vinyl records and CDs of Swift’s latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology.” This album, comprising 35 tracks, was available in a two-part edition with vinyl priced at $59.99 and CDs at $17.99.

The surge in demand for Swift’s merchandise comes amid Target’s less-than-stellar financial performance in the third quarter. The retailer had missed sales and earnings estimates, leading to a downward adjustment in their annual guidance.

As Black Friday unfolded, some Target locations even implemented separate queues for Swifties dedicated to buying her book and album, illustrating the significant impact of Swift’s fanbase on retail dynamics.

The Eras Tour, having commenced on March 17, 2023, in Glendale, Arizona, is set to conclude in Vancouver on December 8, 2024. The book’s release provided fans a tangible connection to the tour’s monumental success.

Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour Book” not only captivated fans but also dominated retail sales on Black Friday, highlighting the powerful draw of her artistic ventures and the loyalty of her fanbase.
